Bleater

Race Class Level
Kenku Druid 2

Background
Bleater was raised in Waterdeep as a scout, part of an elite organisation, though that life was not for him. He decided to leave for the woods to live in seclusion - rearing animals, foraging for food and cultivating crops. He lived in the forest very happily and during his time in the forest he became atuned to the land, partially visible by his magical wooden hand. Recently, he has heard whisperings of Undermountain in the wind, and trouble in the air - though he cannot brave the dungeons alone.

However, as he grew older he became prone to uncontrollable fits of anger - lashing out at the world and those around him. These fits eventually saw him declared a danger to society and thrown out of his community. He now travels far and wide, picking up odd jobs, falling into bad company and dealing with problems through brute force (as much as a gnome can muster) and sheer ignorance.??

Kozak Dreamfist

Race Class Level
Goliath Paladin 2

Background
Kozak is a Goliath originating from a mountain peak to the east of the Ten Towns by the Spine of the World. His clan had been at peace for generations. Maybe they had grown soft. Maybe they had lost touch with what made their ancestors so widely respected. The clan had been guardians of their mountains for eternity. That is until the raids started. At first it was just a question of honour. Nobody would be able to prise these rocks from the clan's hands. But more and more often they came. Why would they clamber so high into these clifftops? Rumour was they wanted the rocks themselves but the mountains are as immovable as the Goliath people themselves. That was the trouble. When the raids started finding ways to kill Goliaths, the clan elders took a stand. They marched into battle. But none came back. Kozak was young then. But as his people saw defeat looming and began to think dishonourably of retreat from the mountains, the mountains that had been their only friends for centuries, Kozak chose a different path. The Path of Vengeance. The word passed around over the years. The word was Drow. He has dedicated his life to bringing honour back to his people by crushing those who had weakened them. Kozak is a Paladin, devoted to Vanua, the Harbinger of Woe, the Goliath goddess of misfortune and natural disasters. He is lawful good, his natural instinct is to protect anything and everyone, after witnessing his people being slaughtered. That's not to say he is of perfect character or doesn't bend the rules sometimes, it is life that he is protective of. He is rather fixated on the Drow and their demise, to the point of obsession. He associates all that is bad and evil with the Drow. It's the only life form he sees as a disease that must be purged. Calm and gentle on the outside, an inferno burns inside of him waiting for its opportunity to unleash hellfire upon the Drow Queen. However, his search is not just one of revenge but also a search for answers. He wants to know "why?". Why did the Drow attack and kill his people? On his travels, Kozak undertook many bounties and odd jobs to earn some coin to get him by. Most recently as a caravan guard, a rather convenient way to move around while earning his keep. That's where he met a beleaguered sorcerer who was herself the only survivor of an attack by the Drow. She told Kozak of a Drow Queen who supposedly plots from her lair deep into Undermountain. A lair from which her and her kind, must be driven forever.

Romily

Race Class Level
Half-Elf Ranger 2

Background
Always an outsider Romily had roamed the forests and plains of the Neverwinter Wood and the Sword Coast from a young age. Surviving on her wits and her ability to spot danger before danger spotted her. The beasts and creatures of the forest were often more understandable than the people she met. The only time she found the company of others comforting was in her occasional stays at Neverwinter. At Neverwinter she had warmed to the guidance of the sage Z'Djilla of Hartsvale. The elderly Sun Elf's companionship gave her a sense of belonging. Romily learned much from her including teaching her the hidden words of the Draconic and the Abyssal. When Romily arrived most recently at Neverwinter, Z'Djilla was not there. She had left in a hurry. Talk in the corridors was of her frightened state and the word on most lips was new - Undermountain. Romily delved into the tomes and managed to hear a young wizard speak the same word as he made his own way to leave the citadel. Romily trailed him for a time and saw the kindness he offered to a roguish gentleman fallen on hard times. She observed the pair and resolved to follow them to Waterdeep having heard their conversing of plans to reach the City of Splendour and the famed Undermountain beneath it

Vidaris Nightbreeze

Race Class Level
Half-Elf Bard 2

Background
Vidaris likes a challenge and he also likes money, so when he started fufilling bounties and catching criminals it wasn't long before he moved into the lucrative trade of being for hire from the more questionable parts of Waterdeep. Lucky for him, although from humble beginnings, Vidaris' way with words and ability to charm or confuse those he engages with has allowed him to move in circles well beyond his actual status. This brings more lucrative leads as he works for the more social face of certain underhand factions across the city, whilst also picking up the odd job catching those in prey on nobles. He has also been know to help collectors add those hard to find off-market items to their collection. Still, he likes to return from where he came and he can be found playing his Viol in his old local inn rather discorandtly with a few others, while people stomp dance around. Lately, his work has become rather routine so the prospect of going for some of the most challenging bounties and items is all too appealing even if he has to befriend the odd 'adventurer'.

Eremin Clearleaf

Race Class Level
Halfling Druid 2

Background
Eremin is from Chondalwood. The Ghostwise druids of the Chondalwood can feel the future beneath their feet. They know that the great forest is dying. They also know why....It?s dying because the Great Wolf is not there, so his spirit cannot protect the forest, and his echoes are fading. For centuries, the clan druids have been divining the whereabouts of the Great Wolf. And now they?ve found it. Centuries ago, the mad wizard, Halaster Blackcloak, came to the Chondalwood. He was collecting exotic creatures for his menagerie, to fill the giant dungeon he was building, now known as Undermountain. Maybe the Great Wolf is still there, in that mad labyrinth. Maybe he?s still alive. Maybe he?s dead. Either way, he?s away from his lands, and the lands die without him. This is the truth that Eremin Clearleaf learnt. He learnt it first in his dreams, where he heard the faint echoes of the land?s howl. And then, as his apprenticeship continued, he felt it in his blood, in the core of his being. When adulthood came, and the wanderlust hit, Eremin knew what he needed to do. So he left the forest, taking a token of his heritage with him, and set forth to satisfy his wanderlust. Since then, he has served as a mercenary, a caravan guard, an itinerant healer. For the last two years, he has traveled with Orren Thornblade, a sell-sword. The two have grown close, recognising their shared interest in Undermountain, and preparing for when they?re ready to confront it.
